Buddy and Irene Roybal coordinated the 3rd Annual "Make the Santa Fe Plaza Beautiful" on May 7th, 2016 - another huge success due to community support. Joining Coronado Paint & Decorating as sponsors were the City of Santa FE, Santa Fe Beautiful, Santa Fe Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce.
Volunteers, individually and team groups, showed up at the plaza at 7:00 AM to clean and paint park benches, light poles, portal beams, and bridges. To mention a few of the volunteers - Joe Arellano and his crew from JNS Services, Capital High DECA students, Rising Stars of the Southwest Students, members of Vietnam Veterans of America - Northern New Mexico Chapter 996, Mayor Javier Gonzalez and members of our city council with friends and family, Gateway Marketing, members of Sangre de Cristo Bible Church, and Santa Fe Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board and its membership, as well as many individuals wanting to make a difference. Chuck Higgins (Higgins Chocolate) provided coffee, Hotel Santa Fe provided the breakfast food, Benjamin Moore and Coronado donated the paint, and paint sundries were donated by Coronado Paint and Decorating.
"Thank you Santa Feans for your support in helping to keep our plaza beautiful. We couldn't have done this without you."
